Cutting Through Illusions-Karma and Emptiness- By Geshe Tenzin Namdak
In this 2-day teaching event , Geshe Namdak will elucidate on the relationship between karma and emptiness, the two fundamental Buddhist concepts.
The relationships between Karma and Emptiness show us how we create our ongoing states of dissatisfaction and existence driven by attachment, aversion and ignorance and how we can ultimately liberate ourselves completely from these to attain peaceful, blissful state of a fully awakened being finally free from the endless cycles of birth, death and rebirth.
About Geshe Tenzin Namdak: Geshe Tenzin Namdak was an environmental researcher before he took Bhikkhu ordination from His Holiness Dalai Lama in 1996. He started his formal studies in Buddhist philosophy, psychology, phenomenology and epistemology at Sera Jey Monastic University, Bylakuppe, South India, in 1997.
On April 26, 2016, Ven. Tenzin Namdak received the title of “Geshe” from Sera Je Monastic University in recognition of his completion of the advanced Buddhist studies and practice program. Completing the geshe studies program is a remarkable achievement in itself.
He teaches at Choe Khor Sum Ling, a Tibetan study and meditation center, Bangalore, is a founding teacher of Sera Jey Monastic Translators Training Program and director of Shedrup Sungdrel Ling, a house for western monks studying the extensive Buddhist philosophy program at Sera Jey Monastic University. He is an experienced teacher in practical and philosophical aspects of Buddhism and teaches with great clarity and a good sense of humor.
